Today, we were a little slow getting going, and shortly after breakfast, the Heartland workers were knocking on the door ready to work on our final items. Most of them were a few things not completed when we were there in March. Tim and gang got on them and handled most things, though it took a few trips back and forth to get it all done. While they were working, there was another knock at the door, and it was the Mobile Outfitter rep wanting to drop off the boxes for the Ground Control system. There were some communication errors and so we are not able to get it installed during the Rally as we had hoped (cue circus music here,) but we think we can do it ourselves. Tony was able to borrow some tools and will tackle it tomorrow.
The other "circus music" was in regards to a series of drops or goofs, by either me or Tony, all day long....
Spilled chocolate-covered peanuts, spilled pasta, dropped cell phones, slip in the shower, spilled iced-tea, etc. etc! By the third incident, all we could do was laugh.
Speaking of laughter, our dinner tonight was approx 250 potluck dishes, and very good catered smoked chicken. After dinner, the entertainment was a Hypnotist. It was a lot of laughs, watching the test subjects do things suggested to them: ride a horse, speak Martian, dance, sing, etc.
After dinner we visited with another HL owner that had installed the Ground Control unit, so we could get tips, then went over to our friends Jay and Stella's trailer to visit until the Mosquitos drove us out about 11pm!
