The last bit of the Rally was today, and most were packing up and headed out, including us. We awoke fairly early, and got started putting our sprawl away. Tony went up to the Rally Hall for the "grab and go" provided breakfast, including bagel breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos, fruit, and pasteries. He came back with two plates full of items. I hope everyone got some food that wanted it!
Once we were outside and getting items wrapped up, a few folks started coming by and saying goodbye, but we missed a few as they were going to the rally hall and then to the church service. We decided we just need to hit the road, to make sure we got there at a reasonable time.
We left the fairgrounds at about 9:40am, but with a bit of confusion on the GPS we headed into Goshen and then back out west again. We left about the same time as our neighbors from Pennsylvania in a North Trail 5ver, and also a Cyclone, Sundance and Bighorn pulled out about the same time. Little did we know we'd all meet up again at the first rest stop!
We were the first to pull out since we only stopped and went into our coach, while others walked up to the facilities. At another rest stop, we stopped for lunch, and saw the caravan pass us. We passed them at another stop, a few more miles down the road.
Our drive was along I-80 from Indiana into Ohio, which is a toll road. It was an easy drive, and traffic was pretty light.
There was some construction as we approached Akron... Two lanes of the four were blocked with orange construction barrels, as they had removed the pavement and were in the process of resurfacing. There was a significant drop-off at the edge of the lane, and I was glad the barrels were there to keep HS from drifting over. Unfortunately, as we were traveling, there suddenly was a barrel in the middle of the leftmost lane! (We were in the right lane, as we are slower traffic.)
As cars were approaching, they were quickly slowing and changing lanes into our lane, and we had to brake quickly for them, as well. A car that was coming up next to us had nowhere to go to avoid the barrel, and they hit it. Tony said the barrel bounced toward the trailer, but was so quick in the side mirror he could not tell if it hit us or not. We heard it hit the car, but did not feel or hear it impact us. The car was not damaged that we could tell, and continued on at regular speed, so we did as well, since our exit was only 8 more miles ahead. (And no place to exit sooner or pull over.) When we got to the campground, Tony checked the rig and could not find any sign of impact, except maybe a tiny dent in the J-wrap sheet metal, which may have already been there.
Pretty scenery! Barrels are starting to narrow the road.
The kitties did much better tis trip, maybe because they got a special "treat" this morning. I added a "natural calming aid" to their food, and I think they ate them! They seemed to fuss far less and sleep more. Yay!

For dinner, we went out to eat at The Brown Derby. I had salmon and Tony had shrimp, and they were wonderful!
After dinner we lounged around the rig. We hadn't had much "down-time" during the rally, so we watched some cable TV. We finally got to see an episode or two of Duck Dynasty! Funny stuff!!!
