Are you sure? And a Gully-washer!

Sunday, June 17th

Today we loaded up and headed out about 10am toward Louisville, Kentucky. We are just stopping for the night, then headed to Goshen, Indiana on Monday.

It took a good while to get through town again and back toward Knoxville, but then the traffic cleared and we were moving along as usual. The ride was a little rough in places and the kitties did their usual fussing.

Kentucky

The hills were rolling, and the traffic was light. It was a nice drive. We stopped at a rest stop for lunch, had sandwiches and let kitties out into the bathroom of the rig. We made good time, and got to Louisville just before some storms were headed our way. But wait! First of all, the Louisville KOA is not in Kentucky, but rather in Indiana. (We crossed the Ohio river).

Indiana on the other side

Second, the office looked more like a convenience store, and there were gas pumps out front.

Third, this was more like a parking lot than an RV park?! The sites had just about 3 feet between two coaches' slide outs.

Not to mention the train tracks just 20 feet away!

Really? Are you sure this is a KOA? Oh well, it's an overnight stay. No biggie!

The good news was that the park attendant saw the storms and helped guide us to a spot, and told us to get set up, then come in and take care of registration. We are glad we did, because just 5 minutes after we were set up, it began to rain. Then harder. Then harder, and blowing sideways! Then, a big close clap of thunder at the same time as the flash of lightening, and the power went out! Our Surge-guard protects us from those types of things, so it tripped and prevented the power from coming on for two minutes, while it checks everything. 2 minutes later, we were fine.

It rained hard for about 10 minutes, then tapered off.

Luckily, the trains rumbling by did not blow their horns near us, but we could feel their rumbling!! I think we were so tired, it didn't matter.

I did some Hairball Creative work, and we hit the hay about 10:30.
